William Quinn was put on trial for the 1975 murder of Stephen Tibble 21 who he had been shot twice in the chest whilst resisting arrest.
William Quinn was an American from San Fransisco.
He shot Stephen Tibble on 26 February 1975. William Quinn was being chased after being seen acting suspiciously and Stephen Tibble, who was on a motorcycle, jumped off to stop him at which point William Quinn shot him, killing him instantly.
Stephen Tibble had been in the police force force for six months.
It took them 13 years to convict him. He was a member of the IRA
